Overview
Fayoum (or Faiyum) is a unique Egyptian city located in a lush oasis about 100 km southwest of Cairo. Fed by a branch of the Nile, the Bahr Yussef, it’s an ancient agricultural hub with a rich history dating back to the Middle Kingdom. The area is known for its fertile lands, traditional handicrafts, and the expansive Lake Qarun. It also serves as a gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Wadi El-Hitan (Whale Valley). Fayoum offers a blend of ancient heritage, agricultural life, and natural beauty.
